2 – 5 December 2021: George Tens Sport and Lifestyle Festival
First introduced in 2019 as a rugby only festival, the George Tens is back in 2021 with new events that will include trail running, mountain biking, men’s and women’s rugby, golf, netball plus lawn bowls – now that’s impressive! Running from 2 – 5 December, participants can indulge in their sport of choice to their heart’s content, while those of us not so athletically inclined can take advantage of the party vibe. Set to feature some of South Africa’s most popular music acts and hosting a beer tent and wine experience, the George Tens is, without a doubt, an event not to be missed.

3 & 23 December 2021: Milkwood Village, Wilderness
3 December is the Night of Dreams at Milkwood Village in Wilderness. There will be live music by local talent SHOMON, fire dancing, bonfire, restaurants and pub open as well as a night market with various stalls.
23 December, come and experience the age-old tradition of Carols by Candlelight. It will be led by local musician SHOMON – remember to bring your candle and voice for this very special occasion!
16 – 22 December 2021: Boerevintage Gift Market at Redberry Farm
Nothing says summertime fun quite like a visit to the annual Boerevintage Gift Market at the iconic Redberry Farm in George. Running from 16 – 22 December between 09h00 – 18h00 every day, visitors can spend a lovely day exploring over 150 stalls, exhibiting brands from all over South Africa. Not only an excellent opportunity to find unique gifts, but the incredible Redberry Farm also offers attractions to entertain every member of the family. From strawberry picking to bumper boats, pony rides and exploring the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere, Redberry Farm caters to all. Start your day with a visit to the Red Shed Coffee and Berry Bar for an energy boost as you make your way through the exciting Boerevintage market. 17 December 2021: Tribute to Queen at Mel’s Place
Mel’s Place has become an iconic hangout in Plettenberg Bay, synonymous with top-class live music, entertaining weekly events and a distinctive menu thanks to their open fire diner (the only one in the Garden Route) and pizza bar. Fill up on delicious open fire cooking as The Family Band – considered one the greatest tribute bands in South Africa – set the night on fire with their incredible Tribute to Queen performance. 17 – 19 December 2021: Hobie 16 Nationals Plett Beach Regatta
Hi there, sailor! It’s once again time for the annual Hobie 16 Nationals Regatta – one of the largest and most competitive sailing competitions in South Africa, inviting sailors from all over to the shores of Plett’s Hobie Beach as they fight it out on the water for top honours. Sponsored by local favourite Robberg Fine Foods, this classic summer event promises adventure, excitement and family-friendly fun whether you’re on the water or the shore. Be sure to come early and meet the sailors before they hit the water – they’re a friendly bunch. There is no entry fee for spectators, allowing you to come and go as you please, but trust us, you won’t want to miss a minute of the action as they race around a set of buoys in the bay or compete in the long-haul race from the mouth of the Keurbooms lagoon across to Robberg 5.

17 December 2021 – 2 January 2022: Dias Summer Festival
SA Concerts and Toyota SA, in collaboration with Dias Hotel and Bahia Bleu, proudly present the 2021 Dias Summer Festival. Few activities scream summer quite like a music festival in the Garden Route. The Dias Summer Festival promises to bring back the joy of summer with incredible performances from artists like Demi Lee Moore, Riaan Benade, Early B, Jack Parow, Sunset Sweatshop and more. Hosted in the car park of the Diaz Hotel, festival-goers can enjoy sea views from the entire festival grounds. Between unforgettable performances, take a load off in the beer garden or visit the stalls selling everything from food and drinks to gifts, for a little last-minute Christmas shopping. The festival ends on a high note with a New Year’s themed service presented by Johandre Potgieter, a well-known pastor. For festival-goers safety, Covid-19 safety measures will be in effect.

18 December 2021: Bahia Bleu Beach Fun Run
Are you feeling active and looking for a way to give back to the community? Bahia Bleu offers residents and visitors to Mossel Bay an opportunity to participate in a fun run, walk or crawl along the shores of Diaz beach to Hartenbos. Taking place on Saturday 18 December at 08h30 with the proceeds going to charity, participants are welcome to bring along their four-legged partners for the fun. With plenty of stalls selling delicious snacks and drinks to enjoy as well as the musical delights of local artists, you and your loved ones can make a day of it. Strap on your running shoes, choose between the 4km (R50 entry fee) or 8km (R100 entry fee) option and kick this holiday season off on the right foot.

30 December 2021: Prime Circle Concert at Reed Valley
ReedValley is a beautiful vineyard offering a unique wine tasting experience in the heart of the Garden Route and provides the perfect setting as you say goodbye to 2021. Prime Circle, a much loved South African band, will take to the stage on Thursday, 30 December and perform a medley of their best hits, while lead singer Ross Learmonth will charm you with his great sense of humour, easy-going nature and amazing vocals. Since their debut in 2002, these Johannesburg gents have become one of South Africa’s greatest rock acts, garnering international industry attention and fans worldwide. As someone who has been to many Prime Circle concerts, I can say with confidence that this will be a memorable experience.
3 January 2022: Jesse Clegg at Cornerstone Creek
Cornerstone Creek, a new kid on the block, has some fantastic music events lined up for December summer season, including the one and only Jesse Clegg who performs on 3 January at this Hoekwil, Wilderness venue – part of his Now and Here Summer Tour. Concert starts at 18h00, be sure not to miss this one (we’ve already bought our tickets!).
