We’ve been loving local for months now as South African’s have rediscovered their favourite holiday destinations within our borders, including the towns & coastal villages that make up the marvellous Garden Route #LoveLocal. Although we’re taking all the necessary preventative measures due to Covid-19 and encourage travellers to do the same, we’re excited to safely welcome international travellers back to our country after an extensive lockdown – our borders officially opened on the 1st of October 2020, just in time for summer and the festive peak season #SouthAfricaIsTravelReady #IAMTOURISM
The re-opening of our borders means a much needed boost for our country’s tourism industry and economy as a whole, which have both taken strain since the first announcement of lockdown in March. South Africa’s major airports including OR Tambo International Airport, King Shaka International Airport and Cape Town International Airport re-opened in October, whilst our very own George Airport is open for domestic travel to and from the Garden Route. Our dedicated Hello Garden Route team have been working tirelessly to ensure strict hygiene and correct cleaning protocols are adhered to at all properties which we recommend and book for our valued travellers, as well as at our exclusively managed properties. We have implemented amended policies and procedures in place for Covid-19 #SupportYourStay
