Skydive Plettenberg Bay

Skydive Plettenberg Bay offers an exhilarating skydiving experience in the beautiful Garden Route. Learn about why it’s a must-try adventure for thrill-seekers!

One of life’s most adrenaline-pumping activities is skydiving. All you have to do is jump out of a plane and fall down to Earth. If skydiving has been on your bucket list for a while, it is time to tick that box. One of the best and most sought after destinations to skydive in South Africa is in the Garden Route’s beloved town of Plettenberg Bay – the views are out of this world!

Experience the rush of freefalling with the iconic view of Plett below you plus endless sea, mountain and forest valley views all around. Skydive Plett is truly one of the most beautiful drop zones with highly skilled tandem skydiving instructors to ensure you’re in very safe hands.

Skydive Plett was established in 2002 and operates from Plettenberg Bay Airport. You will register there, meet your tandem instructor, receive a briefing and thereafter get fitted with all the necessary equipment, including of course your harness which has four attachment points and is completely adjustable. Then you’re set to go!

Take off in a light aircraft for around a 20 minute flight. Fly seaward off the coastline in the direction of Natures Valley and when reaching the altitude of around 5,000 feet, you will circle around and fly back across the bay to begin the run-in for the drop over the famous Robberg peninsula. This flight’s scenery alone is magnificent. It’s common to observe whales and dolphins during the season too.

Linked to your tandem instructor via his/her harness using the four attachment points, you stand at the open door of the plane and exit together, free falling at the exhilarating rush of a 35-second, 200 kph before your parachute opens. Suddenly, all seems still and for the remainder of your decent, you get to take in the glorious views all around you. What a feeling!

Skydive Plett is open seven days a week, weather permitting. Sign up for a tandem skydiving experience unlike any other.
