The Tree House on Ballots Bay is a unique Self-Catering Cottage overlooking the Meul River mouth and sheltered pebble beach of Ballots Bay, neighbouring Victoria Bay.

Located within a pristine, private nature reserve and tucked away on the mountain side, at the foot of the valley, enjoy a stay surrounded by birdsong and wildlife with uninterrupted sea and river views. Access to the reserve is remote, via secure gates. Both George and Wilderness are a short drive away, and Victoria Bay is around the corner.

The Tree House on Ballots Bay is a double-storey wooden cabin which is naturally shaded, set amongst beautiful Milkwood trees. It’s a nature lover’s haven, perfectly positioned for a secluded stay at the seaside. Some call it a modern-day, fairy-tale tree house! Without any obstruction to the surrounding natural setting, this multi-level holiday home is well-designed and tastefully decorated with maritime touches throughout.

Enjoy boundless opportunities for hiking, fishing and bird-watching or simply relish in the contentment of relaxing at home. Boasting river, sea and beach views, this property is an ideal location from which to lose track of time and allow yourself to just be.

Accommodation is split on two level. On the lower level are three bedrooms, the main bedroom is en-suite with a romantic corner bath and separate toilet. There is an additional toilet down the hallway. All rooms open onto a wrap-around deck with hammock, outdoor dining table and river views. Upstairs is the spacious, open-plan living area. The lounge has a lovely indoor wood-burning fireplace; the indoor dining table offers both river and mountain views. There is a well equipped kitchen with an extra freezer. Also upstairs is an additional bathroom with shower.

The lounge opens onto an outdoor deck with Weber BBQ/Braai, a sunlounger and outdoor dining table, all with sea, mountain and river views. Enjoy sundowners and social around the BBQ with the sound of waves in the distance.

Additional house features include wifi, a smart flatscreen TV and an alarm.

There is an additional communal picnic and BBQ/braai area on the beach with ablution facilities plus outdoor shower, a few steps from the house.

NOTE:

Ballots Bay is not a safe swimming beach. The nearest safe swimming beach is Victoria Bay, approximately 10 – 15 minute drive from this house.

Access to the house is via stairs only (63 – 67 stairs to be precise) making this property not suitable for the elderly or young children. Should you be travelling with young children, please do take care of them as there are no safety gates on the stairs.

Considering the area is a high risk for fire, please ensure all fires are put out/do not leave any fire unattended. The outdoor Weber BBQ/Braai is charcoal only and the indoor fireplace is wood only. There is a fire extinguisher at the house.

No pets are allowed within the reserve.
