It’s a tradition: Every year I take myself away for my birthday celebrations and this year I was super blessed to spend it with my beloved family at the one and only On Oyster. Recently listed with Hello Garden Route, it’s been on my radar for quite some time to experience this magical holiday house first hand and what better timing than this…

We arrived the Friday afternoon and upon walking into this house, we were awestruck: pictures really do this property no justice! From the style and decor, to the seamless flow and spaciousness, the special luxurious touches, indoor/outdoor living, not forgetting unsurpassed sea views. We were instantly in love.
For the full duration of our 2 night, 3 day stay it felt like time stood still. There was not a worry in the world, we were living a dream blissing out in Boggomsbaai.
Days were spent swimming in the sea, playing ‘Marco Polo’ in the heated swimming pool, giggling with joy in the jacuzzi, sweating it out in the steam room, sitting outside on the sea-facing patio playing 30 Seconds at sunset (laughing until our bellies hurt), cooking up delectable feasts in the gourmet kitchen, lazing on the sun loungers soaking up the sun, relaxing on the most comfortable couches in the lounge next to the indoor fireplace and chatting until late hours of the night, eating birthday cake until we couldn’t anymore, loving the daily sightings of dolphins playing in the surf so close it felt as if we could touch them… and all those amazing things that GREAT Garden Route Getaways are made of.
It was truly one of my best birthdays ever, spent with my family (fur babies included) in my happy place. With this as my start to a new year around the sun, life can only get better!
NOTE: A house feature which we really appreciated was the fact that the swimming pool is enclosed, on the inner courtyard side with a glass sliding gate and on the garden side with a wooden gate. So for the doggies, and if there are children, it makes it super safe and secure.
